Ridgeside Falconry and Lurcher Racing

Ridgeside Falconry are one of the largest mobile Falconry display teams in the Country providing County Shows, Carnivals, Fairs and Special Event Days with an outstanding Falconry display.

They have also supplied and handled birds of prey for TV and film productions, corporate entertainment and team building events, along with school educational visits. The Birds of Prey Demonstrations consist of a static display of approximately 15 Birds of Prey from around the world, including owls, falcons, hawks, eagles and vultures, plus spectacular free flying displays. Their highly skilled team are always on hand to give you advice and share their extensive knowledge of falconry.

In addition to the specialist falconry demonstrations, the displays also include hunting dogs and lurchers. Ridgeside explore the working relationship between bird of prey and lurchers, inviting you to experience their full speed hunting abilities.

Tractor Pulling

Regarded as one of the world’s most powerful motorsport, due to the multi-engined modified tractor pullers.  All tractors in their respective classes pull a set weight in the sled.  When a tractor gets to the end of the purpose built 100 metre track, this is known as a ‘full pull’.

The sled is known as a weight transfer sled. This means that as it is pulled down the track, the weight is transferred (linked with gears to the sled’s wheels) from over the rear axles and towards the front of the sled. In front of the rear wheels, there is a “pan”. This is essentially a metal plate and as the weight moves over this the resistance builds. The farther the tractor pulls the sled, the more difficult it gets.
